Use of insecure/unauthorized software Ref.: T16


What might happen:
Potential for copyright infringement and fines for site.

Examples:
Insecure software (either by design or configuration) could lead to fraudulent connections, fraudulent use or the exploitation of software vulnerabilities.
  • No or insufficient control of how software is installed
  • No or insufficient controls of the configuration of critical software.
Illegal use of authorised software.
  • Commercial organisations using Academic licences to run software
  • Insufficient software licences for the installed usage of software within the site.
